Jutta Koether paints in the manner of
psychological handicapped people. What means: They put a
lot of meaning in every image, instead for
leaving room to interpretation they force
all meaning into it. To find collectors,
Bortolamy announces the exhibition like
newspaper advertising, some quotes are from
the paintress Jutta Koether herself: Simple
handshakes have not to be just like they
are, they must gain mystical gravity,
involving the "possibility of being touched
across power systems and ages". So
signifying her style on all other canvasses
as they do flickering between ages and eras
done by sketchily painted forms. Instead of
name dropping she paints images of well
known personalities, to let curators
identify these characters and do the name
dropping after. Upcoming exhibitions by J.K. will
show this again. Let me see, if she change her ideas and painting style.
